I enjoy working with other crafty people so I commissioned Dinah B. Designs for a couple of Sock Monkey Clays to put on a couple of Curly Q bows. She did a great job and look forward to using more of her creations!

Christening Gown Set

This set was a challenge for me. I was given a photo and was asked if I could make it, as is common with most of my orders. I researched, found, and contacted the designer of the original dress and asked if she had a pattern that I could buy. She responded with no she did not, however was able to tell me what yarn she used and what stitch was used on the main part of the dress, the rest was up to me. I ordered the yarn, which took over 2 weeks to get, and set about learning the main stitch. When the yarn arrived I immediately set down to make this gorgeous set. It took over 3 whole days to get together and done just right and even made me pull out the ol' sewing machine (that despises me, I just know it does!) and do the difficult task of sewing with yarn and fabric, not just regular cotton fabric, but satin! When I finally finished this piece, my daughter can laugh and tell you I was singing "Hallelujah!"

While it may have pushed me on my creativity and overcome my sewing machine fears I truly enjoyed making this! I will also gladly do it again, with, of course, some help from a seamstress!

Transition

I originally started out on Facebook using local Garage Sale Groups and it became more headache to keep track of customers and orders. I then moved to Facebook Pages where I could upload photos of newly finished products and ideas and share other crafty trades. I am now having to move yet again as Facebook Pages are becoming more and more picky about wanting money for every post or only 10% of our fans can see our posts and updates. I will continue to keep my Pages page, but will also make updates here as well, for a time. So without further ado, Welcome To Dsey Designs Blog!
